So we went and got him. He was painfully underweight.<br/><br/>Fast forward: Boone now weighs 58 lbs, has gained 18 healthy pounds, and is filling out into the handsome, 60-lb hound he was meant to be.<br/><br/>And what a dog he is.<br/><br/>Boone is pure sweetness. Think big teddy bear who thinks he's a lap dog. He is fantastic with ALL dogs — large, small, rowdy, or chill — and was wonderful with the children in his previous home. Not an aggressive bone in his body. Ever.<br/><br/>Outside? He's in his glory. Classic Plott Hound — nose going, tail wagging, happily romping with the pack or entertaining himself in the yard. Inside? He's a gentleman. He trots straight to the bedroom where his crate is, hops in, and eats his meals in there like it's his own little apartment. No drama, no fuss.<br/><br/>He is smart — really smart — and eager to learn. He does need basic training to polish up his manners, but he will absolutely thrive with someone who gives him a little structure and a lot of love.<br/><br/>Bonus: Boone had a small growth of benign moles on his side that we had removed. He's completely healed and his gorgeous brindle coat is growing right back in.<br/><br/>Boone has been through a lot for just one year old, but he holds no grudges.
