Boober's Story
Boober is a sweet thirteen-year-old Shih Tzu, weighing in at almost 13 pounds. This little friend deserves a quiet, loving, home that can provide care and comfort. Boober will certainly return the favor.

Medical/behavioral needs: We’re looking for a good family to foster-to-adopt Boober on his road to recovery. Due to past neglect, Boober has medical issues being actively resolved. We are addressing ear infections that will require vet visits. Boober also has a condition known as Dry Eye, common to the Shih Tzu breed. His eyes will require daily wetting drops for the remainder of his life.

During the foster-to-adopt process, Indigo’s Rescue Ranch will pay for his medical care. When these issues are resolved, his foster family or person can decide if they would like to move ahead with adopting him into his forever home!

Good with dogs? Boober seems very interested in other dogs. He may enjoy the company of another gentle canine friend.

Good with cats? He currently is living with cats who are pretty sassy and he pushes them around demanding their cat food which he really enjoys. As long as your cats wouldn’t eat him for that, he’s fine with cats.

Good with kids? We don’t know much about Boober with children but we think he would be okay with older kids who understand that small senior dogs enjoy gentle interaction. Soft petting, soft words, and soft treats are always nice to get from new friends!

Energy level: Boober is very easy going and likes to take a lot of naps. He enjoys short, leisurely strolls. Playtime for Boober might include a nice belly rub from his human and soft treats!

Is he house trained? While he’s not perfect, he’s very adaptable. He has never lived in a home where someone paid much attention to him. He is definitely teachable and could be confined to a smaller space in the house until he is better trained.

Animal Characteristics: Boober is a messy eater! We haven’t found a kibble that is his favorite yet. As we mentioned, he seems to like the cat food better but a little experimentation will discover his dream dish!
