Bonnie's Story

Bonnie is looking for a new forever family. After 3 years of living with her small pack a rift has started between two of the three. Bonnie just needs a fresh start and she is a super dog. We know she'll make a great companion to two-legged peeps and four-legged pups in a different environment. She knows sit, stay and shake, she is a cuddly dog that is great with kids and is full of energy. She loves to go on hikes but hates car rides unless she can keep her head out of the window. She gets along well with other dogs, she is a Great Pyrenees and hound mix. For additional information or if you would like to meet this lovely please contact us.

Mutt Maddness's Adoption Policy
Adoption Details If interested in adoption, we ask that you please fill out our online application form. All applications are reviewed and a home check is REQUIRED prior to every adoption. We are sorry if this stipulation causes some disappointment, but we DO NOT adopt out of the state of Georgia. Our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-served basis; we try to match dog to family/individual to assure that it is a win-win for all involved. Many of our dogs have had a “ruff” start and we just want them to find their forever home. Unfortunately, there are times when a dog will have two or more adopters interested, we do the best we can and if you aren’t selected it does not mean you are not a great potential adopter. Remember there are thousands of wonderful dogs looking for their forever family and we know that each of you will find your perfect family member. We do not give discounts or run “specials” on adoption fees. Owning a dog, or any pet, is a big financial commitment. The adoption fee is just a small example of this. If an applicant cannot afford the adoption fee that is an indication they may not be financially ready to adopt a dog. Additionally, though the adoption fee does not cover our expenses for each dog, it does help recoup some of the cost and helps us keep the rescue running. Generally, our board requires adopters to be at least 25 years of age to adopt. If you are under 25 and feel you can provide a great forever home, we encourage you to complete an application. Applicants under 25 are approved at the board’s discretion. ADOPTION FEE & INCLUSIONS Our adoption donation fee is $300.00* (payable by cash or check made payable to Mutt Madd-ness). Of course, we always appreciate and can utilize any additional donations. About or adoption-donation fee: We are fortunate to have many healthy pups, but we also have many that require that extra touch – dogs that acquire parvo, have orthopedic issues, birthing mothers needing extra assistance, etc. If we are lucky enough to have a little left over because one of our pups only required the basics – the remaining is applied to those that were less fortunate. So, you can think of your donation as doing double the good — adopting a lifetime friend and saving another! Most shelter dogs have a rough start on life and in order to get them healthy and on a level playing field, Mutt Madd-ness takes an extra precautionary step and provides preventative treatment to all our newly rescued pups. Our adoption fee includes all vetting up to point of adoption plus some additional items: On intake dogs are provided preventative and regular treatment for common health issues found in shelter dogs such as fleas, worms, mange or skin issues, infections, coughs, etc. * Multiple de-worming * Bordetella “Kennel Cough” Intra-nasal Vaccine * Vaccinations (applicable to age – DHPP, DHLPP, Rabies-administered by vet) * Any special medical / surgical / therapy needs during their fostering * Ongoing medications and treatment if adopted under advisement of medical issue/concern* * Spay or neuter with our rescue vets * Micro-chip (If not spayed/neutered done at the same time – if already spayed/neutered done prior to adoption) * Adult dogs receive monthly Heartgard (heartworm preventative) and Advantix (flea & tick preventative); puppies when age appropriate * Baths and nail clipping * Adoption packet with contract and medical history * Collar & Mutt Madd-ness I.D. tag * Nurturing by fosters (high quality food, water, potty clean up, bedding and toys and lots of hugs & kisses) right up until home delivery! * Mutt Madd-ness also covers some specific treatments post-adoption, e.g., heartworm treatment (protocol as prescribed by our rescue vet).
