Adoption Details If interested in adoption, we ask that you please fill out our online application form. All applications are reviewed and a home check is REQUIRED prior to every adoption. We are sorry if this stipulation causes some disappointment, but we DO NOT adopt out of the state of Georgia. Our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-served basis; we try to match dog to family/individual to assure that it is a win-win for all involved. Many of our dogs have had a “ruff” start and we just want them to find their forever home. Unfortunately, there are times when a dog will have two or more adopters interested, we do the best we can and if you aren’t selected it does not mean you are not a great potential adopter. Remember there are thousands of wonderful dogs looking for their forever family and we know that each of you will find your perfect family member. We do not give discounts or run “specials” on adoption fees. Owning a dog, or any pet, is a big financial commitment. The adoption fee is just a small example of this. If an applicant cannot afford the adoption fee that is an indication they may not be financially ready to adopt a dog. Additionally, though the adoption fee does not cover our expenses for each dog, it does help recoup some of the cost and helps us keep the rescue running. Generally, our board requires adopters to be at least 25 years of age to adopt. If you are under 25 and feel you can provide a great forever home, we encourage you to complete an application. Applicants under 25 are approved at the board’s discretion. ADOPTION FEE & INCLUSIONS Our adoption donation fee is $300.00* (payable by cash or check made payable to Mutt Madd-ness). Of course, we always appreciate and can utilize any additional donations.
