MEET BONNIE!!<br/>Bonnie is a sweet Australian Shepherd who has found herself looking for a new forever home through no fault of her own. Bonnie is an 8-year-old blue merle female with an adorable nub tail. She is spayed, up to date on her core vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Bonnie came to her current person after their original owner experienced a change in living circumstances. The arrangement was intended to be temporary, but she has now been with her current person for approximately a year. Unfortunately, due to the current person's own medical and financial difficulties, she is no longer able to care for them. <br/><br/>Bonnie weighs 43 pounds, and is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves attention, cuddling on the couch, going for walks, and sniffing everything along the way. She is a medium-energy dog who enjoys shorter walks and spending time with her people. She is potty trained; Bonnie has approximately one seizure per year and is not currently on medication per her veterinarian; they are monitoring her. She does have trazodone available for stressful events such as thunderstorms and fireworks, which make her nervous.<br/><br/>Bonnie has good house manners overall. At night, she initially sleeps on the floor in the bedroom before eventually moving around the house. She can be a counter surfer and may get into trash if it is not secured. She is also a chewer, but she responds well to distraction and redirection. Bonnie loves bubbles and attention from her people. She is food motivated and knows the commands sit, stay, go to bed, lay down, and paw.<br/><br/>Bonnie is good with other dogs. She may pull on the leash because she is excited to meet them, but once she has said hello, she generally ignores them. She could potentially be an only dog. She lived with a cat during her first year, but she has not been around cats since, so her current reaction to them is unknown. <br/><br/>Bonnie is not perfect with recall, although she does not tend to run away. She is good with strangers and needs some manner training for jumping. She is somewhat nervous in the car and may breathe heavily during rides. She is also nervous at the veterinarian and may whine and pace.
