If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time***

We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.

Boni, 6 years old, spayed female, Dogo Argentino/Labrador mix, 77 pounds. She is in a foster home in Houston, Texas.

Boni was at the county shelter in Houston and at risk of euthanasia when we saw her. She was about 10 pounds underweight. We are really happy a foster home was available to take her!

Boni is proof that a difficult past doesn't define the future. Although she likely spent much of her life confined and being used for breeding before rescue, she has chosen love over fear. Today, she's an incredibly happy, trusting, and affectionate dog who greets every day—and every person—with a wagging tail and an enthusiastic heart.

This beautiful girl is full of life and loves being part of the action. Bonnie is playful, smart, curious, and always excited to spend time with her people. Whether she's romping around with dog friends, going for a walk, or snuggling up after a fun-filled day, she brings happiness wherever she goes.

Bonnie has done wonderfully with both large and small dogs. She greets new canine friends with friendly enthusiasm and has excellent social skills, recognizing when another dog wants to play and when they'd rather relax. She would enjoy having a playful canine companion but would also thrive as the center of attention in an active home that can meet her exercise needs. She spent a week in boarding while her foster mom was out of town and LOVED playgroups with other dogs.

She walks well on leash overall but can get excited and pull a bit when something catches her interest. With consistency and continued leash training, she's sure to become an even better walking partner.

Boni is crate trained and sleeps peacefully through the night in her crate. She has a healthy appetite, no known food or resource guarding issues, and has shown herself to be an easy dog to care for in the home.

Children have brought out Bonnie's sweet and playful side, and she has been loving and friendly during her interactions. Because she's an energetic girl, supervision around very young children is recommended simply to prevent accidental knockovers during play. Boni has not been tested with cats.

Her ideal family will be active and ready to include her in daily walks, adventures, playtime, and plenty of cuddle sessions. Bonnie forms strong bonds with her people and absolutely loves being close to them. She's just as happy curling up beside you after a busy day as she is chasing toys or playing with friends.

One of Boni's most remarkable qualities is her resilience. Despite everything she's likely endured, she continues to trust wholeheartedly and love unconditionally. Her joyful spirit is contagious, and her zest for life is impossible not to admire.

If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate, playful best friend who will fill your home with laughter, love, and endless tail wags, Bonnie is ready to start the next chapter of her life—with you.

Please note our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation.

***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***

Interested in applying to adopt her?
