Bodie's Story

Hi there! My name is Bodie, and I'm a 14-year-old Shih Tzu with 14 years of love to give. I may be a senior gentleman, but don't let my age fool you-I still enjoy life's little adventures, especially if they involve a walk, a car ride, or curling up next to my favorite person.

For my entire life, I've been deeply loved by my mom. Sadly, she's become ill and can no longer care for me the way she'd like. Her biggest wish is to find me a safe, loving home before she gets too sick, so she can know I'll always be cared for.

I'm happiest living indoors where I can keep an eye on my people. I have free run of the house, sleep right on the bed with my human, and I'm not used to being left alone for more than about four hours. I'm affectionate, gentle, confident, and always ready to snuggle. I also happen to love being groomed, so spa days are definitely my thing!

I'm an AKC Canine Good Citizen, and while my hearing isn't what it used to be, I still understand routines and enjoy spending time with my people. I'm food motivated, so a tasty treat goes a long way in getting my attention.

I've never lived with children, other dogs, or cats. Cats look like something fun to chase, and when I meet unfamiliar dogs, I can be unsure of them. I may bark or growl until we've been properly introduced, and I don't appreciate another dog trying to mount me. I also have a sensitive spot on my right hip, so I'd appreciate a family that handles me gently and respects my boundaries.

My ideal home would probably be with a loving couple or individual who wants a loyal companion to share quiet days, leisurely walks, and cozy evenings. If you're looking for a devoted little shadow with years of love still to give, I just might be your perfect match. I promise to fill your home with companionship, cuddles, and the kind of unconditional love only an old soul like me can offer.
