Bobbie's Story

Bobbie was about a year old when he was left on the streets. Almost three years later, he’s still waiting for his person, and he has not wasted a minute of it.

He came to us in November of 2023 and has spent nearly three years with his trainer. In that time he’s become the dog everyone wishes they had. He’s smart, he listens, he’ll do anything for a treat, and he’s happiest when he has a job. Sit, stay, new trick, lap around the block, he’s in. Then he crashes hard and does it all again tomorrow.

And then there’s the turkey bark. When Bobbie spots another dog, he lets out this ridiculous gobble. It’s not rude, it’s just joy with nowhere to go. He does best meeting dogs slowly, through a crate or in a yard, not nose to nose on a walk.

Busy places with lots of dogs can overwhelm him, and what helps is that he looks to his person. He’s gotten really good at it. He’s learning to keep walking and stay with you instead of getting pulled into the chaos around him. Treats help. Treats help with everything.

He loves every human he’s ever met and would be great with kids 10 and up. He has a high prey and toy drive, which is manageable with the right person.

Almost three years of waiting, and he still wants nothing more than to get it right for you. Bobbie needs someone who actually wants an active dog and will keep up the training and exercise. He’s done the work. Now he just needs you to show up.

Real Good Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Los Angeles, CA.
Learn more at www.realgood.dog
