Bluebear's Story

Bluebear is about 8 years old and weighs 26 pounds, although we're not completely convinced he's actually that old. This big, handsome chunk has plenty of pep left in him. He enjoys getting out for walks, poking around, and having some playtime, but he's equally happy when the day's agenda is more like: couch, nap, cuddle, repeat.

Bluebear was found as a stray, so we don't know much about what his life was like before. What we do know is that he's remarkably sweet and social. He loves people, does well with other dogs, and seems pretty delighted with his current situation now that he has regular meals, soft places to sleep, and people willing to tell him how handsome he is. The only thing that would make his life better is an owner who will love and cherish him like he deserves!

Bluebear is surprisingly uninterested in working for food. Ask him to sit and he'll consider it. Maybe. Eventually. But he'll happily stare up at you with that ridiculous smile as if to say, "Surely you didn't actually expect me to perform when I'm this adorable..." and honestly, he's got a point.

He's not a high-maintenance guy. Bluebear has a nice balance of energy, enough to enjoy walks and playtime, but not so much that he needs to be entertained every waking minute. Once he's had his fun, he's perfectly happy to settle down next to his people and enjoy some quality cuddle time.

There is something very endearing about a dog who seems to have decided that life is pretty good now. He's just happy to be around people, happy to make dog friends, and very happy to be included. He's got a big body, a big grin, and an even bigger soft spot for his humans.

Bluebear is ready for a home where he can spend his days doing the important things: going for walks, getting loved on, taking excellent naps, and occasionally convincing someone that yes, he absolutely deserves that treat without having to sit for it.
