Blue's Story

Aussie Rescue of the Mid Atlantic is excited to accept applications for Blue, a 7-year-old blue merle male Australian Shepherd who is neutered and up to date on all vaccinations.

Blue might be your perfect match if you’re looking for an enthusiastic “older gentleman” who still loves life. While he may be 7, you wouldn’t know it watching him play—he’s always up for a game of fetch and enjoys getting out for walks. As a true herding breed, Blue keeps a close eye on his people—you’ll never be out of his sight for long.

At home, he’s just as happy to relax and spend time with you, enjoying that special bond between a dog and his human. Blue is great with other dogs, though we always recommend a controlled introduction so everyone starts off on the right paw.

He is crate trained, fully house trained, and not destructive, so he may not need a crate once settled in. He’s generally a quiet guy, though he will let you know if dinner is late—or occasionally share a classic “old man” Aussie howl in the evening. And while he has excellent house manners, it’s probably best not to leave a steak unattended…Blue is only human, after all.

Blue could stand to lose a few pounds (per his vet), and having a family of his own will help keep him active and on track. He loves people and is very friendly—sometimes a little too friendly, as he may forget his manners and jump up to say hello.

If you’re looking for a loving, loyal adult dog with plenty of personality, it’s time to meet Blue.

If you’re an approved ARMA adopter and think Blue might be your guy, please reach out to the volunteer you’ve been working with. If you’re not yet approved, you can submit an application on our website Aussie Rescue of the Mid-Atlantic |
