Blossom's Story

There's nothing quite like a sweet and loving dog's kindness and companionship, and when they put their beautiful heads quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm breath, your heart bursts with love. These very sweet dogs are so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them being homeless or in an overcrowded shelter scheduled for euthanasia due to a lack of space.

Blossom is between 3 and 4 years old and a tiny 4 lbs of pure love. She's currently a bit underweight and may end up at approximately 6 lbs once at her proper weight. Our irresistible girl has been identified as a Chihuahua / Toy Fox Terrier mix with a huge heart and a silly, loving personality (check out her video with her silly smile and waggy tail).

Blossom's New Mexico foster mom had the following to say about this wonderful girl: "What a gorgeous and dainty sweetheart Blossom is! She's so brave after being left alone in the home when her owner moved away. While she's initially shy, this tiny girl warms up quickly and is so loving with those that are kind to her. She also enjoys other gentle dogs and cats for playing and snuggling.

Even after all the changes and heartbreak in her life, Blossom has retained her great personality and kindness. She's a gorgeous tiny dog with great energy and a very lovable temperament. At 3 - 4 years old, once comfortable, she's a silly, fun- loving girl with a soft as cotton coat that you can't help but stroking. Blossom's forever family will therefore need to make a lifelong commitment to periodic baths / brushing and excellent nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are perfect lifelong protocols for general longevity and hair care) to keep Blossom's coat super-healthy, shining and as soft as cotton.

Blossom is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age. She's also so loving and cuddly. This snuggly pup would be very excited to be a couch or bed dog and snuggle with her favorite people at the end of an active day. It's clear that this little girl is SO smart and engaging - very typical of both the Chihuahua and Fox Terrier personalities. Many would say these two breeds are among the most intelligent and lovable in the dog world.

We'd like Blossom to find her forever home with a retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a silly and super-smart young dog. A younger family that works from a home-based office would also be a great choice for a pup that would love nothing more than getting loved up periodically throughout the day. Blossom enjoys her relationships with all humans and dogs as well as cats. We would prefer, however, to place her in a home with older children only due to her tiny size. More mature kids can also be active participants in a training regimen and friendship that's so important in a dog's development.

Blossom is up to date on her vetting and vaccinations and has been spayed. This is in line with Farfel's commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs that won't contribute to the overpopulation crisis in the canine population.

Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet as can be, SO snuggly and super-loving dog. An adoption application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.

*PLEASE NOTE* If you're truly interested in adopting Blossom, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
