Blossom's Story
STURDY FENCE REQUIRED
FOSTERED IN GULF BREEZE

Meet Blossom—a 2-year-old Great Dane with springs in her legs, love in her heart, and absolutely no understanding of her own size.

Before landing safely in rescue, Blossom spent about a full month on the run around Opp, Alabama, apparently sightseeing, exploring, and casually covering dozens of miles like she was on a solo Eat, Pray, Love tour. When she was finally caught, her rescuers thought they were just saving a stray Dane… surprise. Blossom had one last plot twist and promptly gave birth to the Squash litter, instantly going from roaming adventurer to devoted, superstar mom.

Now that her puppies are growing up and heading off to their own homes, it’s finally Blossom’s turn.

True to her name, Blossom is bursting with joyful, youthful energy. She loves fetch and will happily bring the toy back again and again until your arm gives out or she decides it’s snack time. She’s fostered with another Great Dane, and together they bounce, wrestle, and play like kangaroos on espresso.

Despite her playful side, Blossom knows how to relax. She’s perfectly content hanging out in the office with her foster mom during the workday, as long as she gets her proper playtime later. Balance is key.

Blossom is still working on her leash skills and does best walking in a harness, which helps channel her enthusiasm. On walks, she enjoys casually licking her foster sister’s face, because personal space is optional and affection should be immediate.

She gets along well with other dogs but, like most Great Danes, sometimes forgets she’s not pocket-sized. She uses her paws to initiate play and request attention, so we recommend a home without small children or small dogs.

Blossom loves being outside and will happily sprawl in the grass soaking up the world. Because she came in as a stray—and because of her previous life as a free-range explorer—a secure, sturdy fenced yard is required.

And yes, full transparency: her boobs still droop a bit from raising a whole litter (relatable, honestly), but she’s well on her way to getting her svelte, Sports Illustrated swimsuit figure back. Motherhood was worth it—but retirement looks great on her.

If you’re looking for a goofy, affectionate, resilient Great Dane who survived life on the road, raised her babies like a pro, and is now ready to focus all that love on you, Blossom is ready to finally put down roots and bloom in her forever home.

Blossom is spayed, current on vaccinations and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $400.

To read over the adoption requirements before applying to adopt, please go to www.nwflgdr.com/adopt.

Please note: NWFLGDR does not transport. Approved adopters are required to pick up the dane in person from his/her foster parent.
