Meet Blazer

ONLINE APPLICATION: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TITD/Dog

Meet this most distinguished gentleman, Blazer.
He was found in October 2022, running on Alligator Alley in the middle of nowhere with cars whipping past him at over 60 mph. No dog should be abandoned in the middle of nowhere with its only hope being the kindness of a motorist to save it. Luckily, fate was with Blazer that day, as one of our volunteers spotted him and stopped traffic to save him. Now, he has been in foster care for over a year waiting for just one person be willing to open their hearts and home to an older soul and give him the life he should have always had.
Blazer's age is unknown to us, but we would estimate possibly 8-10 yrs old. He had heartworms when he was found, but is now heartworm negative, neutered, and fully vaccinated. He is highly potty trained, kennel trained, and non destructive. He just recently spent 2 months in an excellent prison dog training program where he bonded with his handler, socialized with other dogs, and developed more confidence in outside settings.
Unfortunately, he had to come back into our foster care after not being adopted in the program. (Through no fault of his own). He would be an excellent companion for a shepherd lover who wants a low key, calm, and protective sidekick.
Please consider meeting Blazer and giving this boy a chance. He still has plenty of years of love to give.
Bonus, when he smiles he has the greatest little mustache under his nose!
