Blaze - In Foster's Story
***Due to some behavioral issues. Blaze is a management approval adoption. These can only take place Tuesday through Friday from 1-4 p.m. No other dogs. He also will not be adopted into a home with young children. Teens and older please. Blaze also requires a fenced yard and will need continued training with a professional dog trainer.***

If you visit the shelter, you may notice Blaze will not be in a kennel. That is because he is being fostered by an HSHP Employee due to his decrease health in the shelter environment. Taryn his foster mom has already seen much improvement from removing him from the shelter and into a home environment. If you are interested in meeting Blaze we will schedule a time for you and your family to meet him.

About Blaze!
This handsome man is a 4-1/2 year old, neutered male, Boxer.
Blaze can be nervous in new situations, and he is going to need a family that can give him patience as he adjusts. He is also very stressed here at the shelter and does not present well in kennel so we will require a meet 'n greet on leash in our yard with all members of the family present.
His previous owner said that Blaze typically does better with women, and with unfamiliar men he likes to act as a guard dog.
Once Blaze is comfortable is true Boxer personality shines through. He is goofy, clumsy and full of zoomies. He loves to play and will need an active home to meet his lifestyle.
Blaze also likes to think he is the boss and without a firm and commanding presence he will try to take control of every situation. A member of our staff is working on his behavioral training but keep in mind training in a shelter environment is very different from a home environment and he will require continued support with his training. All potential adopters will need a professional trainer in mind when considering taking home this dog.
Blaze has been started on his vaccinations and is now searching for a forever home. If you are interested in possibly giving this big goof a forever home contact us today!
