Since coming into rescue, Birdie has shown us nothing but resilience despite the pain she’s likely lived with for a very long time.

Birdie is approximately 2 years old, weighs 54 pounds, and is believed to be a German Shepherd/ lab mix. After extensive veterinary evaluations, she was diagnosed with severe bilateral hip dysplasia and osteoarthritis from old injuries likely left untreated for far too long.

The good news? Birdie has already undergone her hip surgery and is now on the road to recovery. Despite everything she has endured, she continues to love people and soak up affection every chance she gets.

Birdie is house trained, leash trained, crate trained, and absolutely loves children and humans of all ages. She loves car rides also! She is the type of dog that simply wants to be near her people and be included in the love of a family.

She deserves more than survival. She deserves comfort. Stability. A soft bed. A family that sees beyond her scars and understands the incredible soul behind them.

Birdie may not be the “perfect” dog on paper, but she is the kind of dog that changes your heart forever.

We are committed to giving Birdie the best life possible and finding the right home that will continue showing her the love she always deserved.

If you are interested in adopting or supporting Birdie’s journey, please reach out or fill out an application below.

Birdie is fully vetted, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and up-to-date on preventatives.

Texas Bark Squad does transport out of Texas once the adoption process is completed and approved.

Adoption Fee:
$300 in Texas
$600 with transport included

Apply to adopt Birdie today!

https://form.jotform.com/241458405075153

Texas Bark Squad’s other dogs available for adoption:
https://tr.ee/hLghQxoYSL
