Birdie's Story
Birdie sidles up to just about anyone for a hug and a cuddle without an ounce of resistance. That is not often seen in dogs living in shelters. Some are too shy, skittish and on guard that they recoil from some of the moves people tend to make around dogs and yet Birdie relaxes.

Birdie the beauty, was dumped somewhere in WV and thankfully, a kind Samaritan kept her safe. The petite stunner looks even better -- if that's possible -- than she did as the skinny, starved arrival that she was. Brown ticking, scattered across her white coat might conjure up Pointer or Brittany in her breeding, but that blocky noggin and stout bod point to some bulldog type..

She is gentle and walks beautifully on a leash. One of the best! Medium-size and around 2 years old, Birdie is most likely housebroken, never messing up her kennel. Being dog-selective, Birdie may be happiest as your one and only, having rejected the overtures of some (not all) of the other dogs she is surrounded by, but she offers plenty of love to everyone she meets.

You can visit the dogs from noon - 3 pm Saturdays and Sundays, otherwise by appointment. We always recommend submitting an application (and a copy of recent vet records for your current pets if applicable) to info@aradopt.org.

Link to application: https://www.angelridgeanimalrescue.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Dog-Application.pdf
