Birch's Story

Birch is a loving older gentleman who is looking for somewhere to spend his golden years. While his body tells a story of an older pup (he has cataracts and seems to be a bit hard of hearing), he has the adventurous spirit of a young pup. Birch was found as a stray in eastern Washington and while we will never know his full story, he seems to be learning how to be a beloved pet for perhaps the first time in his life. Birch is a bird dog through and through. He loves to sniff his way through the world, pointing out every bird and bunny. Birch does well with other dogs and is sweet and gentle with people. He is also polite with friends of the feline persuasion. Be careful leaving food on the counter! Birch has legs for days and he knows how to use ‘em! Birch would do best in a home with someone who can spend a lot of time with him, give him opportunities to sniff on walks, and a comfy place to snuggle. While not a requirement, Birch would enjoy having a friendly pup in the home to teach him “how to dog.”
