Bingo's Story

Nearly six months in shelters is a long time for any dog.

B I N G O... that's my name! Now all I need is a family to sing it with.

Hi, I'm Bingo, a 3-year-old, 64-pound German Shepherd mix with a wiggly body, a joyful spirit, and plenty of love to give.

Volunteer dog trainer Alyssa says, "Despite life not always being kind to him, you'd never know it by the joy he brings everywhere he goes." That's me. No matter what life has thrown my way, I still greet each day with a wagging tail and hope that my family is out there.

If you walk past my kennel, you'll probably see me bouncing around with excitement. I know it can look like I have endless energy, but the truth is I've been waiting a long time for the chance to stretch my legs, explore the world, and spend time with people.

Once I'm outside, I love to run, play, get my zoomies out, and then I'm perfectly happy relaxing by your feet while you give me all the attention I can soak up.

Hot weather isn't really my thing unless there's water involved. Give me a kiddie pool, some shade, and I'm in heaven. I love splashing around while taking in all the sights and smells.

I'm a social butterfly, especially with the ladies. I enjoy chasing and playing with my canine girlfriends before settling in for a nice walk. I get along with most male dogs too, but I do best with slow introductions and prefer to avoid intact males. If you have a dog at home, bring them along for a meet and greet!

I first came to Stafford County Animal Shelter in March 2025 and was adopted that July. Through no fault of my own, I found myself back in the shelter in May 2026. I've now spent nearly six months of my life in shelters, and I think it's finally time for that chapter to end.

As a German Shepherd mix, I'm smart, loyal, and love being part of the family. Shepherds enjoy having both physical exercise and mental enrichment, and they form strong bonds with their people. Whether we're going for a walk, learning something new, or relaxing together at the end of the day, I'm happiest when I'm with the people I love.

If you're looking for a loyal best friend with a playful heart, an adorable wiggle, and a smile that's impossible to resist, I hope you'll ask to meet me.

Vaccinated
Neutered
Microchipped and ready to go home with no geographical adoption restrictions.

Stafford County Animal Shelter
26 Frosty Lane, Stafford, VA 22554

Adoption Hours
Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Saturday, 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Adoption Fee: $45

This time, I'm hoping the ride home is forever.
