Bingo's Story

Breed: Pointer/Jack Russel Mix (our best guess!) Gender: Male Estimated Date of Birth: 4/9/2024 Size: 31 pounds Location: Wedowee, AL RESCUING BINGO... Bingo was part of an oops litter of 9 puppies who belonged to a local family. The mom was a Jack Russel mix and the dad is unknown. Two of the puppies sadly didn't survive. We were contacted to help with the remaining 7 puppies and we took them in on June 20, 2024. We also had the momma dog spayed. When we got these babies they were in rough shape - loaded with worms, fleas and ticks but we knew they needed to be saved and we are so happy we could help! The pups in this litter are Bingo, Peaches, Zeke, Willy, June, Penelope (Adopted!) and Summer (Adopted!). ABOUT BINGO... Bingo is living in our rescue cottage with other dogs. He is a super sweet puppy but he is shy and a follower so would do best with a patient family that has another dog who is confident and could show him the ropes. He is a big snuggler and once he is comfortable and feels safe with his family he will show you non-stop love. He is very playful, loves toys and bones. He does well with his crating routine and is fine in his crate but occasionally will still have an accident once or twice a week. He would do well with kids and would make a great addition to a family. Bingo walks well on a leash and currently has a fenced in yard. He would do best with a yard to run and play in or with an active family that can get him out to burn off some energy. Bingo also loves to play in the kiddie pool and would do great as a boating companion or a family that hikes near creeks or has a pool. ADOPTING BINGO... Bingo is neutered, current on all vaccines, dewormed, heartworm tested negative, microchipped and on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative. His adoption fee is $200.00. Rescue Ridge Dog Rescue of Alabama's Adoption Policy

Our adoption process is very thorough. We have a 7 page adoption application, a phone interview and an in-person interview with a home visit. If they have other animals we also arrange for meet and greets and proper introductions. We check tax records online to verify home ownership, Google search and social media search to verify any concerns (arrests, prior animal ownership, family dynamics and employment). We also check the national sex offender registry. We assist with choosing the right dog for each family based on home set-up, stairs, fenced yard, leash walking, other dogs/cats, children in the home and dog ownership experience. Every animal goes on a 2 week adoption trial with the family and if everyone feels comfortable the adoption agreement contract is signed. If at any time the adoption does not work we take back all of our dogs. All dogs are also chipped with us listed as the alternate contact.
