Meet Big Red in LA - Chill & Gentle!

Big Red is a handsome, chill, young pup with a distinctly reddish coat (which is super soft!). He adores attention from his people, but doesn’t clamber all over you; this gentle guy is content to sit back and wait for you to call him to come on over. Red came into rescue with his five brothers, and all of them have young dog energy, enjoying an active lifestyle full of play and adventure. They are half Cattle Dog, half Great Pyrenees, and 100% Good Boys! Red is crate trained, learning to walk on leash, and barks only to alert. He’s great with dogs and has been non-reactive to the cats he’s seen. Big Red’s ideal home will have a huge box of toys waiting for him (teddy bears are his favorite!), and be with an active family that includes a canine sibling for him to play with. Red enjoys meeting new people (he’s friendly with everyone!), receiving lots of treats, and having a good chew on a marrow bone. Is laid-back Big Red the pup for you?!

Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted.

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.

Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
