Big Dan is a happy fella who loves people and craves attention. You will love running your hands through his medium-length, super soft coat too, so it’s a win-win! Dan came into rescue with his five brothers, and all of them have young dog energy, enjoying an active lifestyle full of play and adventure. They are half Cattle Dog, half Great Pyrenees, and 100% Good Boys! Dan is crate trained, learning to walk on leash, and barks only to alert. He’s great with dogs and has been non-reactive to the cats he’s seen. His foster pawrents describe him as “calm and curious,” loving to explore the world around him! He is also a patient guy, willing to wait for his pets. That said, when his littermates fall back, Dan moves in to claim your heart! Dan’s ideal home will be with an active family that would like to take him on adventures, and have a canine sibling for him to play tug-of-war with (a favorite game of his!). This sweet boy is friendly with everyone he meets, and he is so looking forward to the day he gets to meet his furever family!

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
