Big Buddy's Story
Big Buddy is a very special pup. He is absolutely velcro with his humans and loves to be their lapdog.

Buddy loves to play with toys and sits for treats, which he takes very gently. Although he loves his playtime with his doggie friends, his favorite pastime is to lay between his foster parents, or snooze on top of his foster mom.

Buddy was rescued from a very high kill shelter of Houston, where he was brought in, all skin and bones, completely neglected by his previous owner. Despite that, he was so loving that he won over every staff member and his sweet demeanor saved his life.

Buddy is currently in a foster home in Portland, Oregon and can be adopted to any state in the US, and even Canada.

Buddy is big baby who is extremely loyal, affectionate and adorable. He goes everywhere with his foster mom, including coffee shops and parks. He is unfazed by people and loud children and dogs in the park. He also has not chased squirrels or cats on his walks, but because he does not live with cats, he has not been tested with any.

He is very smart and sensitive. He is extremely well-behaved, quiet, calm, and obedient. He likes to be a good boy for his humans.

A home with a fully fenced yard is mandatory, as well as experienced adopters since he is very big.

Buddy is definitely one of the best pups in our program who is very loved.

He is 2.5 years old, 75 lb, fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He is heartworm negative, and kept on proheart 12 that covers his heartworm prevention for a year.

To be considered to adopt Buddy, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com

Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences.

Buddy's adoption fee of US$500 includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, and harness.

Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences.

Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them.

Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. We are so full, that we have to send our pups to out of state fosters to make room for our euthanasia pups. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.
