__

Big Bopper, aka Devo, is a complete hunk. At 3 years old, this 52-pound neutered Bully mix is pure love, packed into one very solid, very snorty package. He's happy-go-lucky, full of personality, and always ready to make the most of whatever the day has in store.

Bopper was saved from the euthanasia list at a Houston shelter for space and is now being fostered in Austin, Texas. He is available for out-of-state adoption, and transport can be arranged by the rescue once he is matched with an approved adopter. The adoption process includes an application, phone interview, video call with the foster home, virtual home visit, and vet and personal reference checks.

This dude is toy-obsessed. If Bopper has his way, there will always be a toy within reach. Balls, ropes, stuffies—you name it, he's interested. One of his favorite games is having you chase him while he's carrying a toy. He'll act like he absolutely does not want you to take it, but secretly, that's exactly what he wants. He loves fetch, tug, and anything that involves his favorite people joining in on the fun.

Bopper has a real zest for life and loves being part of whatever his people are doing. Whether you're playing with him, hanging out around the house, or simply going about your day, he's happiest when he's included.

He's also very dog-friendly and currently lives with multiple dogs, both male and female. He's non-reactive and does a great job picking up on their cues. He's still learning a little about personal space, though, and can sometimes get excited and come on a bit strong when he's curious. A home with a well-balanced dog who is comfortable communicating appropriate boundaries would be a great fit and give Bopper the opportunity to continue building his social skills.

Bopper is crate-trained. He may voice his opinion with a little barking when he first goes in, but he eventually settles down. He hasn't been around cats or children, so we don't know how he'd do with either. Because he's enthusiastic about toys, ropes, and play, we recommend a home with children 12 or older who understand dog boundaries and can interact appropriately with a strong, energetic dog.

As a brachycephalic dog, Bopper can be a little snorty and breathe heavily, especially when he's excited or warm. His future family should be mindful of keeping him cool during hot weather and avoiding overly strenuous exercise, particularly during Austin summers. Shorter walks, plenty of breaks, and temperature-conscious activities will help him stay comfortable. A family familiar with Bully breeds would be a definite plus.

Big Bopper is the kind of dog who makes you smile just by existing. He's a toy-obsessed goofball, a professional snorter, a solid cuddle buddy, and a happy little hippo who simply wants to be part of the action. If you're looking for a fun-loving companion with a huge heart and an even bigger personality, Bopper might be your guy.
__

***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***
