Betty's Story
Meet Betty - the tiniest little sugar-faced lady looking for a forever home.

Betty is around 8 years old and came to us from one of our rural shelter partners after being found as a stray. We don't know what her life looked like before she ended up in the shelter or how a sweet girl like her found herself without a family, but we do know she deserves nothing but love from here on out.

We're calling Betty some type of Lab/Basset mix, but honestly... your guess is as good as ours. She could have a little Chihuahua hiding in there somewhere because this girl is TINY. At only about 30 pounds, she is so much smaller and daintier in person than she looks in pictures. Photos truly do not do this adorable little lady justice.

And that sugar face.

Betty is every bit as sweet as she looks. She absolutely ADORES people and wants nothing more than to be close to someone. If there is a lap, a couch, a soft bed, or even just a spot beside you, Betty will happily claim it. She is a professional napper, an expert cuddler, and would probably spend her entire day snoozing next to her favorite person if you let her.

She loves other dogs, loves meeting people, and truly just wants to be included in whatever her humans are doing - even if "being included" means sleeping through the entire thing.

We are so incredibly thankful that an amazing foster stepped up for Betty, because without foster homes, dogs like her would still be sitting in crowded shelters waiting and hoping someone notices them. Because someone said yes to fostering, Betty got to trade the noise and stress of the shelter for a soft bed, lots of cuddles, and the chance to finally start looking for a family of her very own.

At 8 years old, Betty may have a little gray on her face, but she still has so much life and so much love left to give. Senior and adult dogs are so often overlooked for younger dogs and puppies, but there is something incredibly special about giving a dog like Betty the forever she has been waiting for.

She doesn't need much. She just wants someone to love, somewhere soft to lay her head, plenty of naps, and a family she never has to lose again.

Betty's past may be a mystery, but her future doesn't have to be. We know there is someone out there who will look at that perfect little sugar face and wonder how they ever lived without her.

This sweet, tiny girl is ready to spend the rest of her days knowing exactly what it means to be home.

If you think that home could be yours, apply to adopt Betty today.
