Betty 3551's Story

3/21/26. Meet Betty: The Loyal, Affectionately Adventurous Sweetheart

Betty is a gorgeous 4-year-old, 75-pound Doberman Pinscher and German Shepherd mix who really shows off the best of both breeds. She’s spayed, microchipped, and fully up to date on her shots. On top of that, she’s incredibly smart and has a calm, affectionate “good girl” demeanor indoors. Whether she’s swimming in the pool, chasing a ball at full speed, or curled up next to you on the couch, Betty is an all-around fantastic companion.

She’s been professionally trained since she was a puppy, so she’s house-trained, crate-trained, and solid on her basic commands. You can trust her in the house, even when you’re not home, which makes her an easy and dependable member of the family.

As her “portfolio” shows, Betty is just as soulful as she is goofy. She’ll patiently wear heart-shaped sunglasses, pose for holiday photos, and sit “shotgun” as the perfect passenger on car rides. She’s an athletic, confident dog who loves activity and outdoor adventures, but her heart really belongs to her people. She’s a true “velcro dog”—loyal to the core and happiest when she’s close by, often sleeping near you so she can keep an eye on things.

Betty is wonderful with kids of all ages. She has experience living with other dogs and is a total social butterfly at doggy daycare. She does best with a structured, slower introduction when meeting new dogs so she can feel safe and comfortable. Once she’s settled in, she gets along well with dogs of all different energy levels.

Betty is hoping for a committed home that can keep her mind busy and her body active. In return, she’ll give you a lifetime of loyalty, affection, and steady, unconditional love. Not every dog is available for adoption or need a foster - some are wards of the rescue (usually due to medical reasons, but sometimes behavioral). These dogs will always be supported by DRL. We welcome financial support for these dogs. Here are links to foster and adoption applications for those dogs who need a foster home or adoptive home.
Foster Application Adoption Application
