Bets's Story
Meet Bets! Bets is an approximately 2-year-old, nine pound Shih Tzu mix who was found as a stray when no one came looking for him. While we can't understand why nobody claimed this little charmer, we're pretty sure it's because Bets was destined for bigger and better things.

When Bets arrived, he was a tangled, matted mess and needed a complete shave. He had to part ways with his matted coat, but don't worryhis fur is already on its way back, and he's going to be a total showstopper.

Bets has never met a lap he didn't like. In fact, if you're sitting down, Bets considers that an invitation. Personal space? He isn't familiar with the concept. His favorite place in the world is snuggled up next to his people, preferably while receiving pets and being told how handsome he is.

This little guy is equal parts cuddle bug, comedian, and snack enthusiast. He can hear a cheese wrapper from three rooms away and appears in the kitchen faster than you can say, "Who wants a treat?" His big brown eyes are his secret weapon, and he uses them shamelessly. We haven't seen him win an Oscar yet, but his performance as "the world's most starving dog" deserves a nomination.

Bets is house trained, kennel trained, and has excellent manners around the house. He knows how to relax, but he also has a playful, goofy side that will keep you smiling. One minute he's curled up in your lap like a tiny prince, and the next he's bouncing around looking for attention or hoping you'll accidentally drop a snack.

He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys having furry friends around. He has not been cat tested, but we think he would most likely do well with cats. Bets would also do well in a home with respectful children who can appreciate both his playful side and his love of cuddles. Mostly, Bets just wants someone to love him and include him in their daily adventureseven if those adventures are simply moving from the couch to the kitchen and back again.

If you're looking for a dog who will greet you like you've been gone for years, make you laugh every day, and happily volunteer to help with every meal preparation, Bets may be your perfect match.

Bets is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and neutered. He will require regular grooming once his luxurious coat grows back.

Bets' hobbies include:
Supervising all kitchen activities
Collecting treats
Giving unsolicited kisses
Perfecting his puppy-dog eyes
Lap warming
Being ridiculously cute

If you are interested in meeting Bets, please apply at www.adoptapal.org/adopt.

His adoption fee is $500
