Beth's Story

Beth is a petite, approximately 1-year-old Cattle Dog mix weighing just 27 lbs. She is sweet, sensitive, affectionate, and incredibly devoted once she knows she is safe.

Beth was originally found abandoned in a developing subdivision in South Texas, left to navigate the world on her own. Because of her past, new people, places, and experiences can initially feel overwhelming. Beth needs an adopter who truly understands timid dogs, decompression, and the importance of moving at her pace.

Give Beth that time, though, and you get to see a completely different dog.

In foster care, Beth blossomed from a timid little girl into a playful, silly companion who gets the zoomies, proudly carries around her toys, steals the occasional unattended slipper, and loves being close to her person. Her foster even described her as one of the easiest dogs she has ever cared for.

Beth is:

Approximately 1 year old & 27 lbs
Spayed, fully vetted & heartworm negative
House trained & crate trained
Medium energy
Smart, gentle & affectionate
A certified Velcro dog once she bonds

Other dogs have played an important role in helping Beth feel safe and confident. We would love to see her in a home with a friendly, confident canine companion who can continue showing her that the world isn't such a scary place.

Beth's ideal adopter isn't looking for a dog who will walk through the door on day 1 and immediately act like she's lived there forever. She needs someone patient and experienced who will keep her world small at first, allow her to decompress, make introductions slowly, and understand that progress isn't always perfectly linear.

With Beth, it's a marathon—not a sprint.

But if you're willing to give her the time she needs, you'll discover the affectionate, goofy, loyal little sidekick we've already had the privilege of getting to know.

Beth doesn't need perfection from her person. She just needs someone who won't expect perfection from her.

Apply to Adopt Beth:
https://forms.gle/JcgFWEjVwUPQ7zvu7
