Bessie #6 Black Labrador Retriever Mix Killingworth, CT

This incredible soul is Bessie #6. Bessie is 1-2 years old and weighs 50 lbs. She was found as a stray with serious injuries to her face and was seen as a lost cause and was almost euthanized. The cause of her injuries is unknown, maybe from being kicked by a horse or hit by a car or person, either way they were severe and needed extensive surgery. Bessie’s luck changed as a few people saw how sweet she is and wanted to give her a chance, so they stepped in to help. She has been through 3 big oral surgeries as well as heartworm treatment and is now fully recovered and ready to find her forever home. Through it all, Bessie has had such a strong will to live and a joy for life. She is an inspiration. Bessie is an active girl. She loves other dogs and cats and she is great with children. She needs an active lifestyle with a family that will play with her and encourage her zest for life. Bessie is crate trained, leash trained, and house trained. ADOPTION FEES: $495 non-refundable adoption fee for all vet expenses (spay/neuter, shots, etc.) and transportation to ensure your lab gets to you in a safe, professional manner. All fees may be paid using PayPal, cashier's checks, or money orders. Labs4rescue does not accept personal checks for adoption fees. All adopters must pay their Labs4rescue adoption fee prior to the rescue shipping their dog.

Residents of Massachusetts or New Hampshire are required to pay an additional $125 fee, which defrays the cost of their state's mandatory 48 hour isolation and examination by a licensed veterinarian.
