Beso's Story

UNLUCKY IN LOVE! Beso means “kiss” in Spanish, but he is yet to know real love. It’s not that he goes unnoticed. With his soulful eyes, his stocky build, & his jaunty gait, Beso is undeniably cute & does get some interest, but has been looking for love in all the wrong places. What we've learned is Beso is not a good fit for apartment living (all the hub bub and close quarters can make him nervous) and he would definitely do best with another dog in the home (to show him the ropes and help him gain some confidence) and needs someone with some patience to let him decompress and grow at his own pace He would love a nice fenced in yard to run around with his 4-legged friend/friends, but he can do well with a few long walks/hikes daily too.

Beso has the biggest fan club of volunteers at MLAR who want to change his story because Beso is one great dog! He is housebroken, crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, & travels calmly in a car. He just LOVES all dogs – any size - & he is the gold standard for canine compatibility. He loves a brisk walk as an opportunity to uncover new scents, & he loves to play tug of war in the fenced yard. He also likes squeaky toys, balls, & enrichment puzzles. Indoors, Beso has excellent house manners. He can be a goofy & affectionate couch potato, showering those he trusts with kisses, as his name suggests. His friends say Beso isn't a "first date kind of guy" but it just takes a couple meets for Beso to "know" a person and relax and show his goofy side. We promise he is worth this little bit of effort.

We'd love to get Beso into a safe, loving forever home. Could it be yours?

Please apply at www.mlar.org/adopt-application or stop by daily 11-5 for walk-in appointments
Kennel #2857
