I just turned 3 years old on July 27th and weigh 15 pounds. I need a new home because I was rescued from a puppy mill. I am being fostered in Omaha, NE.<br/><br/>I am skittish but progressively learning to trust. Once I face my fears, I'm excited about overcoming them. I am curious, energetic and playful, but also still nervous about things until I'm introduced to them a few times. I get along with other dogs, but I would probably do just fine as an only pet too.<br/><br/>I am still working on the basics of home life. I will go up and down steps and do my job outside at my foster house. I really like having a comfortable safe zone to retreat to, and around here it's the living room couch.<br/><br/>I love ear rubs, couch time and stuffed toys.<br/><br/>I have a big personality in a little package, just waiting for the right family to show it to.<br/><br/>I get along with people and other dogs.<br/><br/>I would rather not be groomed but will eventually let you clip my nails and bathe me.<br/><br/>I need better dental care than what I had before entering rescue.<br/><br/>Here's a little more about me:<br/>Housetrained? I am trying to transition off my history of wet food onto kibble, but its been very gradual. Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption.<br/><br/>MABTR requires a fenced in area from families who own their home, however we DO adopt to apartment complexes and communities where fences are not permitted due to leases and covenants. In these cases a leash law must be enforced. MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue's Adoption Policy
There is no fee for submitting an application with us. We are not affiliated with any other organization so we do require our application to be submitted in order to be considered. We prefer applications be completed online, We DO adopt to families with fenced in yards or those that live in apartments/condos. MABTR offers a two-week trial period with each adoption to ensure your new dog is a good fit. You only need to complete one application per household, not per dog of interest. MABTR will do our best to help transport any adopted dog within the 13 states we serve. We do not adopt outside of our service area, no exceptions. It may take us up to four days to process your application as we review applications twice a week.
