Meet Bert <br/>Approx. 11 months old 48 lbs Border Collie / Labrador mix (best guess)<br/><br/>Bert is the kind of dog who doesn't show you everything right away-but give him a little time, and you'll see what a good one he is.<br/><br/>He can be a bit timid when meeting new people, but once he settles in, he's all about quiet snuggles and playtime with his trusted humans. He's currently living with other dogs and does great with medium to higher-energy playmates. He's easygoing and respectful-he'll even let his foster sibling take toys or treats from him without any fuss.<br/><br/>Cats? No problem. Bert lives with them and mostly just ignores them (or naps nearby).<br/><br/>He's house trained, working on leash skills, and prefers not to be crated. He'll do best with a home that can give him a little patience on the front end and let him build confidence at his own pace.<br/><br/>Bert isn't going to be the dog that runs up to every stranger-but he will be the one who bonds deeply with his people and becomes a really solid, loyal companion.<br/><br/>If you're looking for a sweet, gentle dog who just needs a minute to feel safe, Bert might be your guy.<br/><br/>All Heart of America Humane Society dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines.<br/>Adoption fee: $250<br/><br/>Our dogs are in foster homes across the KC metro.
