Bert's Story

Bert, Male, Rhodesian Ridgeback X, 1 year old, 71 lbs.

Bert is a true family fella! He is open and friendly with all, and is absolutely fantastic with small children! Bert has a gentle, patient soul and naturally tones down his energy when he is around little ones. He will play with them for as long as they want and respects when play time is over. This is not to say, being the centre of all the love and attention in a one or two person forever home wouldn’t suit him perfectly, too.

As wonderful as Bert is, he is a teenage work in progress and needs a leader to help him polish his potential. Fortunately, Bert is smart, food-motivated, and sensitive; qualities of a fast learner.

Like a lot of young, intelligent dogs, a bored or lonely mind leads to mischief. If left unsupervised or unexercised, Bert will find things to chew and not always appropriate things. In a knowledgeable home that is active, structured and with space to run and play, this phase should pass quickly. We do think he would do best in a home where it is not necessary to leave him alone for long stretches, so there is time to ensure he has learned to be content on his own.

Bert is an athletic pup and would make an excellent walking, jogging, or biking buddy. He is polite when he’s out on the town meeting strangers. Bert is also always game for a car ride adventure. He is good with other dogs and lives with cats. Bert’s an all-around sweet-natured, affectionate and friendly guy.

Bert has been neutered, microchipped, and his vaccinations are up to date. The adoption fee for Bert is $600.00.

For more information on adopting Bert or to request an adoption application, please contact info@homeagainbancroft.ca.

We do not ship our dogs.
