Otherwise he is pretty quiet most of the time. He loves being outside and doesn't mind the cold, but also relishes some comfy bedding in his crate, although you will usually find him asleep under your bed. Once he shyly warms up to a new place and people, he becomes everyone's friend and shows how trusting his true personality is when he feels safe and secure. He is so good, well behaved, gentle, nice, and obedient. He likes to give hugs but knows not to jump up on you. Bernstein is great with other dogs and integrates smoothly into a household with other pets. <br/><br/>Background <br/>Bear was scheduled to be dropped off at Houston's BARC kill shelter on Thursday, Jan 9, 2025 by his owner. His owner desperately did not want to take him there, so they reached out to GNAR for help. She had to move in with her brother that week, but he wouldn't allow her to bring Bear with her because he claimed he can’t be around dogs due to severe allergies. GNAR found a spot for him in a group foster home just in time.
