Bernadette's Story

Bernadette has endured a difficult past. Overbred and rescued from an abusive backyard breeding operation, her story is one of the worse we've encountered. At just under 2 years old, she is slowly learning that kindness is real and love is forever.

Now on the path to healing, Birdy needs a special adopter who can offer patience, understanding, and a gentle heart. She loves quiet walks, rolling in the grass, and soaking up the sunshine. Each day, she’s discovering the joy of play and savoring every treat she’s given.

Birdy is calm around other dogs, but for now, she longs for a home where she can be the only dog and can feel completely safe as she continues to heal. If you have the love to give, Birdy is ready to receive it—one small step at a time.

Visit our facebook to learn more about Rogue Active Duty Animal Rescue: https://www.facebook.com/rogueactivedutyanimalrescue

To Apply: https://form.jotform.com/230755556832058

Once approved, we will schedule a meet and greet with your household/other pets. If that goes well, we’ll schedule a day to start a 2 week trial! Upon start of the trial, adopter will sign a Foster-to-Adopt contract. After 2 weeks, the adoption will either be finalized or the animal will return to foster.

The adoption fee is $400 to cover spay/neuter, vaccines for a year, microchip, an additional month of flea, tick & heartworm prevention, a complimentary first bath at Splash & Dash Groomerie in Southern Pines, 2 training classes ($120 value) with Marauder K9 and a photoshoot with Bluebird Photography ($100 value).
