Thankfully, the child recovered after requiring two stitches. Because of this history, Bentley's next home will need to be one that understands his needs and is committed to providing appropriate management, structure, and love.<br/><br/>Despite this incident, Bentley is an affectionate, loyal companion who absolutely loves being with his people and enjoys playing with other dogs.<br/><br/>About Bentley<br/><br/>Male, neutered<br/>Over 70 lbs<br/>Microchipped<br/>Vaccinations, bloodwork, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention are all up to date (2025)<br/>No known medical issues or allergies<br/>Bentley loves being close to his family. He'd happily sleep beside you, but is just as content on the bedroom floor or another cool spot in the house. He enjoys car rides, running, playing fetch, dog parks, and spending quality time with the people he loves.<br/>Training<br/>Bentley knows:<br/><br/>Sit<br/>Lie Down<br/>Paw<br/>Other Paw<br/>Wait (for food)<br/>Social Behaviour<br/>Affectionate with people<br/>Enjoys playing with other dogs<br/>Curious about cats and may run toward them to play <br/>Does not enjoy rough play and will bark to let other dogs know he's had enough<br/>House Manners<br/>Fully house trained<br/>Comfortable staying home alone for 6 - 8 hours<br/>No separation anxiety, though he may bark briefly when you leave<br/>Will bark at strangers or the doorbell until he becomes familiar with visitors<br/>Things to Know<br/>Can pull on leash until he's had some exercise; a Gentle Leader works very well.<br/>If a door or gate is left open, he may wander off to explore.<br/>Will counter-surf or steal food if it's left within reach.<br/><br/>Prefers eating from bowls placed on the floor rather than elevated feeders. <br/>Food guarding with dogs / might snap. <br/><br/>Ideal Home:<br/><br/>Bentley would thrive with a wfamily who can provide daily exercise, companionship, structure, and plenty of love. A securely fenced yard and experience with large breeds would be an asset.<br/><br/>Bentley has been deeply loved since he was a puppy and has always been an important part of the family.
