Benny #your-very-own-Toto's Story

BEST LITTLE PAL IN THE WORLD

DOB 4/4/24, weight 14 pounds

Hey there everyone! I’m Benny, a cheerful, inquisitive, and alert red Cairn Terrier mix fella who’s got the drop ears of a Norfolk Terrier. I'm small enough for a lap-top snuggle and sturdy enough for a good romp on the lawn. Like most Cairn mixes, I do best with lots of close family contact. I’m cat-friendly and get along great small dogs as well as kids. I’m learning to walk on a leash, and I’m almost housebroken.

Sometimes I’m still afraid of strangers. Perhaps my tentativeness is because I was found in a rural area wandering around alone and trying to fend for myself. Yikes! That was scary! Thank heavens a Good Samaritan scooped me up and brought me to my Foster Mom. Boy howdy! Was I ever glad to find a safe haven and to kiss the hardscrabble life good-bye!

A British breed club promotes us Cairns as the "best little pal in the world." We were originally bred to fearlessly root out foxes and badgers in the rocky Scottish countryside. Cairns became family favorites when Toto starred in "The Wizard of Oz."

Now I’m ready to bring my cheery personality to brighten my forever home. Could that be with you? If scruffy terriers are your penchant, I was made to order for you! Arrange to meet me today! I'm anticipating crawling up in your lap for some chin and cheek scratches. I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart.

HOPE ID D25-0409-0022

If you are interested in Benny and would like to fill out a Dog Adoption Application, please go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php . Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt from us but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started.
