He is an expert lounge-voted "Most Likely to Curl Up on the Couch"and is perfectly content being left out to snooze while you're away. He has a unique relationship with his crate: he loves it as his private nap sanctuary, but only if the door stays wide open. Benny prefers to have his freedom! While he cherishes his independent nap time, hell gladly join you in bed for an occasional, heartwarming snuggle session.<br/><br/>Bennys Medical Needs:<br/><br/>Benny is partially blind due to untreated glaucoma from his past. Because of this, he requires daily eye medication for life to keep his eye pressures comfortable and stable.<br/><br/>The Good News: He handles his routine like a champ! Takes the eye meds like the perfect boy he is.<br/>The Cost: His medication runs about $50/month<br/><br/>Navigating the World: Benny might occasionally bump into you, or a piece of furniture, but don't underestimate himhe navigates the backyard beautifully and can dodge trees like a pro when he's playing!<br/><br/>His Ideal Forever Home:<br/>Benny is looking for an understanding, patient home that can understand his sight disability, respect his boundaries and celebrate his progress.<br/><br/>Other Dogs: Now that he is feeling healthy and pain-free, Benny has proven he can be friendly with other dogs! Because his vision is limited, he requires a **slow introduction in a wide-open space** so he doesn't feel cornered. He currently coexists wonderfully with his foster dog siblings.<br/><br/>On Leash: Benny is an excellent leash walker! However, because he can't see fully, he can sometimes be reactive to things that surprise him on walks. A handler who can guide him confidently is key.<br/><br/>Kids: Benny would do best in a home with **older children** who can understand he can't see well, and can respect his space. He does great with his fosters nieces and nephew who are over the age of 9.<br/><br/>Benny has overcome so much to get where he is today.
