Benny's Story

Benny is available for adoption in Orange County! This adorable little guy is 4 months old and weighs about 15lbs. He's neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and is current on his flea meds.

We aren't totally sure of his breed, but we are guessing he might have some hound and dachshund in him!

Benny is social and good with other dogs. He's a big fan of the Labrador retriever in his foster home. He's also doing well with the cats in his foster home! He loves to play and snuggle. He's been sleeping through the night in his own bed and is learning how to walk nicely on a leash. He knows how to go outside to go potty during the day and uses pads at night, so he's doing well with potty training in his foster home (but will likely need a refresher course in a new home).

His favorite thing is having his people nearby, so he would do best in a home with a family who is around most of the time. He is good with kids, although (like most puppies) he has land shark tendencies so calmer kids would be best for him!

He is super cuddly and loves to be held. He is a TOTAL love! He does seem to like water and even went swimming to chase ducks near his foster home one day! He enjoys time at the beach and loves to be outside. Laying in the yard soaking up the sun is one of his favorite things.

He is very much a puppy, so he will need a home with people who are willing to invest time into his training, including crate, potty, and obedience. He's still in that phase where he wants to chew and eat everything, so he will need a home that understands that type of puppy behavior and how to handle it. For the family willing to put in the effort, he's going to be an amazing, loyal, loving dog!

If you are interested in adopting Benny, please fill out an application on our website!

Diamond's Friends Pet Rescue's Adoption Policy
1. All Adopters Must Complete an Application We require all prospective adopters to complete an adoption application. We do allow applicants to request specific animals, but our adoption applications help us make sure we are matching you with the best animal for your home. 2. Adoption Fees We do charge adoption fees. All our animals come spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. They have received preventative medication for fleas, ticks, and heartworms. Some of our animals have been transported in from other cities or states. Others have had lab work done or other medical needs taken care of. All of this costs us money, and our adoption fees help us recover some of the costs we incur helping these animals so that we can help others in need. Our adoption fees vary by the dog. 3. Meet and Greet Once your application is approved, a member of our team will reach out to schedule a meet and greet as well as a home check. 4. Finalize Adoption If the meet and greet and home check goes well and you'd like to move forward with adopting, you will pay the adoption fee and sign an adoption contract.
