Benny's Story

Benny is a big baby in the best possible way; with the most stunning brindle coat you've ever seen. This sweet boy is all about the simple pleasures in life-a cozy bed or couch, a favorite toy to carry around, some nice walks, and plenty of yummy treats. Picked up as a stray and sadly never claimed, Benny is more than ready to settle into a home where he can finally relax and be loved. He may look like a tough guy, but he's really more of a gentle soul who enjoys taking it easy and soaking up attention. Benny absolutely loves playing fetch and proudly holding onto his toys, and while he's still learning that sharing can be part of the fun too, he's been doing really well with his training and continues to make great progress every day. He is loving sharing toys, while swapping for another. Because he's such a smart boy who benefits from consistency, he'd do best with older teens who can help keep up his training and set him up for success. He's been a quiet, relaxed presence in his kennel, often choosing to lounge on his bed and take in the world at his own pace. Benny hasn't been in playgroup just yet, and for now, he'd likely be happiest as the only dog in the home while he continues building his skills and getting comfy. We will also try him here at the shelter to see if he has any preferences, for potential dog friends. If you're looking for a laid-back, lovable companion with a playful side and a soft spot for the good things in life, Benny is ready to be your new best friend.
