Benji's Story

Meet Benji 💙

Benji is a 1–2 year old French Bulldog who’s still learning that the world is a safe place. With an unknown past, he can be wary of new people and may growl when he’s feeling unsure—especially during high-stress situations like vet visits. He’s not a “jump right in” kind of dog and will need slow, thoughtful introductions and an adopter who respects his boundaries.

Once he feels safe, Benji forms a strong bond and becomes a loyal, affectionate companion who loves being close to his person.

He’s still very much a young dog—playful, silly, and full of energy. Benji enjoys playtime but can be a bit overwhelming for some dogs, so he’d do best as an only dog or with a calm, patient female dog who can tolerate his puppy-like enthusiasm. He has not done well with male dogs.

Benji is crate trained and potty trained, giving him a great foundation to build on. He would benefit from continued confidence building and positive reinforcement to help him feel more secure in new situations.

Because we’re still learning about him, his compatibility with cats and small children is unknown. A calm, predictable home (ideally without young kids) would likely help him succeed.

Benji is looking for an experienced or patient adopter who understands that trust takes time—but the reward is a deeply devoted companion who will be incredibly loyal to his person.
