Benji's Story

Hi, I’m Benji! I’m a 4-year-old, 23-pound Chiweenie with a gentle soul, a sweet personality and so much love to give! I’m currently being fostered in Albion, Michigan, where I’m discovering just how wonderful life can be when you’re surrounded by people who care about you. When I first came into rescue, I had a pretty bad flea infestation that caused me to lose some of my fur. Thankfully, those pesky fleas are long gone and my beautiful coat is filling back in nicely! I’m feeling better every day and looking forward to finding a family who will love me for the wonderful little guy I am.

I’m an incredibly affectionate, mild-mannered boy with a nice medium to low energy level. I get along wonderfully with everyone and everything, and I’m just an all-around easygoing companion. I don’t need constant excitement or a packed schedule to be happy. Give me a comfy spot next to you, some gentle pets and a little love and I’ll be perfectly content to curl up and relax. I’m the kind of dog who makes a house feel like a home just by being there. I’m also currently undergoing heartworm treatment (just 3 shots left!), which is being fully covered by the rescue at no cost to my adopter. Once that’s behind me, I’ll be ready to enjoy all the good things life has waiting for me!

I’m fully vetted, neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. I’m a sweet, loving boy who doesn’t ask for much, just a soft place to land, someone to snuggle with and a family to call my own. If you’re looking for a loyal little companion who will happily curl up beside you and love you with his whole heart, I might just be your guy!

If interested, please DO NOT submit an inquiry through Petfinder. Fill out the application at the link below.

https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/63adcb00cb896f59b74103d2/6ac52ce60de952b4610c4c59

Angie's Dog House's Adoption Policy
Our Adoption Process Our goal is to make the adoption process as smooth as possible while making sure each animal is matched with the right home 1. Submit an Application Complete our adoption application using the link at the bottom of each animal’s bio. Our team will review your application and if approved, someone from the rescue will reach out. PLEASE DO NOT FILL OUT AN INQUIRY ON PETFINDER 2. Home Video Once approved, we will ask you to submit a video walkthrough of your home and yard in lieu of an in-person home visit 3. Animals Already in Foster If the animal is currently in a foster home, the foster parent will contact you to answer questions, tell you more about the animal and arrange a meet and greet. Please bring a leash to the meet and greet. If everything goes well and you feel it is the right match, you may complete the adoption and take your new family member home that day 4. Direct Adoptions From Transport Some of our animals travel to Michigan specifically for direct adoption rather than going into a foster home. Because these animals are coming on transport specifically to meet their approved adopter, a direct adoption must be a firm commitment. Please ask any questions and make sure you are comfortable moving forward before committing to a transport animal 5. Finalizing the Adoption To complete the adoption, you will sign our adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Once complete, your new family member is officially yours and can head home with you
