Meet Belle

This dog is being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas or in the North / Central Texas area.

NAME: Belle
GENDER: Female (Spayed)
AGE: About 3 years old
WEIGHT: About 11 Pounds
DOGS/CATS: Great with other small dogs, No with large dogs, Unknown with cats
CHILDREN: Should be fine with older, mature children (10 and older)

Meet one our newest fosters – Belle. This girl has captured her foster family’s heart. They told us “if we could adopt another dog – this would be the one – we LOVE her”. We think you will love her too!

Belle was surrendered to the Weatherford Animal Shelter by an elderly owner who could no longer care for her. The shelter was totally full, and they reached out to CRT to ask if we could bring her into our program and get her out of the shelter environment. We quickly accepted her into our program and transported her from Weatherford to Plano (about a 1 1/2 hour drive). She had never been to a vet, so we began her vetwork. She has now completed her vetwork and is ready for her forever home. Belle is a delight and we are happy to have her.

Belle gets along great with the other small dogs in her foster home. She is very friendly and all the small dogs in her foster home immediately loved her. She plays with the other dogs (although several of her foster siblings are older and don’t want to play for long periods of time – lol), and then shares her doggie bed for a team nap. Belle fits right into the family activities and is patient when the other dogs want to relax. She is just beginning to show interest in toys. Note Belle is afraid of larger dogs, so we recommend a home with smaller dogs only.

Belle loves to go outside and explore the yard. She loves to run outside and chase squirrels. After playing in the yard, she will stretch out on your deck for some time in the sun. Belle would love to have a forever home with a secure backyard to call her own.

Belle is very friendly and loves her family. She is a little shy when she meets new people, but she warms up quickly. She is easy going and happy. Belle loves belly rubs and affection. She will sit on your lap and snuggle with you throughout the day. She also nuzzles your neck as if to “hug” you. She does it every day as if to say “I love you soooo much”. This melts our hearts. Belle is talented. She has the cutest trick – she will stand on her back legs and dance for a treat. We call it her “circus act”. Belle runs to the door to meet her family when they return from running errands. She is SO excited when you get home. Belle also loves car rides (she would make a great RV traveller). Belle makes us smile all day long.

Belle is completely potty trained. She has not had one accident in her foster home. At night she likes to sleep in her doggie bed inside of her crate. She is totally quiet and sleeps the night away. We are starting to leash train her and she is doing well. She loves taking walks and would love for her family to walk with her daily.

Belle is about 3 years old. She weighs about 11 pounds. Belle has a light tan coat. She has the most adorable face and oh those ears! She is the cutest chiweenie! The ideal family for Belle would be an active home with a big back yard to play in! Belle would love to have another dog buddy to grow up with. She would do well as an only dog, too, as long as her family was around to spend time with her. Belle would be great for a work-from-home family because she enjoys family time. She would love to hang around in your office all day and would be no problem at all. Belle does need a family who can check on her every 4-6 hours (would not be a good fit for a family that works away from home 10-12 hours a day). Note that Belle does alert (bark) at noises. For that reason, we do not believe she is apartment appropriate. There are no children in her foster home, but we think she would be great with older, mature children (10 and older). She is very friendly and we think she would be a wonderful fit for a young, active family.
