Bella, Sweet Senior Girl's Story

*Due to Bella's possible special needs, her adoption fee has been waived.*

Meet our extremely sweet and friendly senior girl named Bella! Bella is about 14 years old and she came to our shelter after her owner passed away. Unfortunately, there were no family members able to take Bella after this happened. Bella is a very loving dog who just wants to be with people. Her paperwork says she is a Shepherd/Lab mix, but she is not very tall. Bella still has good energy and she is very treat motivated, where she will still jump up and vocalize for them. She is a wonderful dog who does not deserve to spend her retirement years in a cage. Bella is good with other dogs and she lived with a cat in her previous home.
We did have a senior blood panel done on Bella and there wasn't anything gravely serious found. Due to some of the blood levels and a slightly distended abdomen, our vet staff thinks there is a possibility she could have Cushings Disease. This is not life threatening, and we are told she can live without being treated for Cushings specifically. This seems to mainly affect her drinking, making her want to drink more than usual, so she will have to urinate more frequently. Due to this Special Needs, we will be waiving her adoption fee.

If you are interested in adopting Bella Please Email us at Adopt@savingpawsct.org for an application! Her adoption fee has been waived.
PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL SPAM FOLDER!

MAC IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK (M-F 8-4pm) (Sat-Sun 10-4pm) Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. Appts to meet dogs can made to suit your schedule, please email/call for an appt. We do prefer to be contacted by email for adoption inquiries at Adopt@savingpawsct.org. The office phone number is 203-235-4179. Leave a message, and someone will call you back promptly. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL SPAM FOLDER!

You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal.
Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal.

An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments.

ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME.
For more info please call 203-235-4179 (Always Leave A Message) or email adopt@savingpawsct.org
