BELLA BLUE is a beautiful, happy and lovable Australian Shepherd - Australian Cattle Dog mix 4 years old and a perfect medium energy level.
Bella stays close to her human if she can - but she's not overly dependent. She gets excited to go to dog park and other places with dogs and will wag her stubby tail. She has figured out all she needs to do is to go stand by a person to get petted.
Bella will talk to you. Sometimes when she hears a human on the phone she will circle around the room wagging her tail, trying to join the conversation!
Bella likes her dog bed/s; she is very entertaining because no matter what you put on her bed she has to "dig" around, step on every inch and even move blankets with her mouth or a toy
to a new spot :)
Bella loves to be on a human bed but also gets right off when told. In her original home she didn't get on any furniture because she knew she wasn't allowed.
Bella is very good on a leash; she may need a gentle tug when she sees other dogs because she thinks it's time to play with them like at the dog park, but she's never aggressive just vocal.
Bella is either passive or playful with other dogs. She doesn't start altercations in fact she shies away but with another dog wants to play Bella is very good at reading what level of energy is best.
Two directors at DASH have fostered Bella; she and her senior "brother" had to be rehomed because their beloved owner was dying We decided to separate Bella from Jack because we really did not feel anyone would adopt both because Jack is much older. Both have been fine with the change and Bella is the one in a whole new foster home; she's adjusted perfectly and is mindful of the house-dog but also sweet, loving and playful for humans.
Bella is really an exceptional pet-dog. She isn't the "fluffy Aussie" type of shepherd we usually take in but she has a much better disposition and lovable personality than most Australian Shepherds.
Bella is also much calmer than most Australian Cattle Dogs /Heelers. She's very well behaved and sweet, a cuddle bug and best friend-type of companion who will be happy with her human on the go or just hanging out together at home!

General Info - PLEASE READ! *Our $450 adoption fee is based on the cost of rescuing, transporting and vetting each dog; we do not try to compete on prices with municipal shelters whose funds are paid by the city. Our philosophy is to rescue highly adoptable dogs, have them live kennel-free in private homes for temperament assessments and individual personalities.
We work hard to match EACH dog with the right family - kids or no kids, other dogs male or female and/or cats. With very rare exceptions all dogs over 6 months will be spayed or neutered PRIOR to adoption - dogs under 6 months will include a spay/neuter date AND referral info for lower-cost surgery if the adopter does not choose to use her or his personal vet. OUR VETS WILL NOT PERFORM SPAY NEUTER SURGERIES UNTIL DOG IS 6 MONTHS OLD.
