Bella Bitsy's Story

Bella is a 9-pound peanut with a very sweet soul, and she's finally ready to find her forever home!

Bella and her mom, Lady Bug (who has already been adopted), came into rescue with us last June. Bella had a few medical issues that needed to be addressed before we could send her off to her forever home, but she is now doing great and ready for her next chapter! Their prior owners had to move from their apartment and decided to leave the girls behind - yeah, not cool - but lucky for us, and now them, because we've made it our mission to help both girls.

Bella is a quiet, gentle, somewhat timid little girl who doesn't need a lot of excitement to be happy. She is happiest when life is calm and predictable, with plenty of cozy spots, sunshine, and a person to snuggle with.

She is house-trained, crate-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and LOVES riding in the car. She isn't looking for a home that will take her on long hikes--Bella's idea of a perfect day is more along the lines of a little stroll, a good sunbath, and then some serious couch or bedtime.

Bella is also a professional snuggler. She sleeps in bed with her foster mom and has no problem sharing the bed with her foster siblings, including both a medium/large dog and a small dog. She is perfectly comfortable around other dogs, but she isn't particularly interested in making them her new best friends.

She prefers to eat her meals without other dogs hanging around, so she appreciates a little personal dining space!

Bella is low energy, quiet, affectionate, and easy to have around. She doesn't need a busy household or a ton of activity--just someone who will appreciate her gentle nature and let her blossom at her own pace.

If your idea of the perfect dog is a tiny Chihuahua who wants to snuggle, ride along in the car, soak up some sunshine, and quietly hang out by your side, Bella may be your girl.

All known information about the animal is listed above. We do our best to give accurate information, but most of our dogs are rescues and do not come with a known history

Name: Bella Bitsy
Breed: Chihuahua (Breed mix is not guaranteed-no DNA testing done).
Sex: Female
Age: 6 years (estimated)
Weight: 9.0
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Vaccinations: Up to date
Heartworm: Recently completed treatment
Microchipped: Yes

BASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:
Good with Children: She's fine with all people
Good with Dogs: Yes
Good with Cats: She's smaller than most cats, so it would depend on the cat...

Adoption Fee: $450.00 (includes transport fee when applicable)
$100-150 additional mandatory quarantine fee for Massachusetts residents.

Location of dog currently: Arrives in New England on 10/17/26

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the South and New England.

Adoption fees cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary. The adoption fee is set at a level that enables adoption; they do not cover our costs. Thank you for your generosity and interest in our dogs!

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher.
