Bella's Story

Bella is a beautiful little survivor who was rescued on January 6, 2026, from a dumpster in Los Cedros, Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico. At the time of her rescue, she was only about three months old.

Despite such a difficult start in life, Bella has a sweet and loving personality. She is incredibly affectionate, loves playing with toys, and has a special weakness for peanut butter treats. She is an absolute princess in every sense of the word.

She's a quick learner, and we have no concerns about her ability to master potty training, learn how to go in her crate, and get along with adults, children, and other animals.

Bella is one of many puppies who were sadly abandoned on the streets along with their mother, left to fend for themselves. Thankfully, she was given a second chance—and now she’s ready to find the loving forever home she truly deserves.
With her gentle heart and playful spirit, Bella will make a wonderful companion for a family willing to give her the care, safety, and love every dog deserves. ❤️🐶

Could you be the one to give Bella her happily ever after?

Because Bella is still a baby, we're not totally done with her spay surgery. Because of this, she is available as a foster-to-adopt. This is when a future owner takes over as the foster, and once all the adoption criteria are met, they complete the process!

Usually, satos (homeless dogs from Puerto Rico) are a mix of many breeds, some chihuahua, some pit, and you name it! They are always loving and grateful.

We do not know what breed Bella is, so please take the 'lab/chi mix' with a grain of salt. She's an adorable little low rider. Our volunteers have suggested everything from a corgi to a dachshund, too. Whatever she is, it's a unique and lovely mix. We anticipate he will grow into a middle-sized adult, possibly around 40-50lb, but of course, they do sometimes surprise us!

If you are interested in adopting Bella, please fill out the application here:
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BSCO/Dog
