Bella's Story

Bella is sweet girl who is ready to live out her senior years with lots of love. She loves to lounge around the house and relax with her people. She will "talk" and let you know when she wants treats or French fries.

She is a very unique girl who was diagnosed with epilepsy at a young age. Today, she takes two different medications twice a day, 7am and 7pm. Missing a dose can result in a higher chance of a seizure. While the medication helps minimize her seizure activities, as she continues to age her seizures may become more frequent and require a medication change which could include both dosage and frequency of medication.

When Bella does have a seizure, it tends to last about 30 seconds but it can take her up to an hour after to fully regain mobility and normal cognition. When Bella has a seizure she also tends to lose bladder or bowel function during.

She likes to be comforted and have a calm environment both during and after. Right now since being surrendered, she is having seizure activity every couple of days. She will need people who can watch her closely and keep up consistently with her medications.

If you are viewing this pet's profile on Petfinder or Adopt-a-Pet,.please use the application link at the bottom of the profile to apply. Clicking the "Ask About" button does not submit an application. It only submits a question which will delay an application submission.

All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative (age 7 months and older) and microchipped. We do not ship or transport. A senior's adoption donation is $100. There is a $5 fee for credit/debit cards.

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please fill out an online application here: www.heartlandsmallanimalrescue.org/canine-application.html
