Bella
Husky mix
Female

Hi, my name is Bella! This name was given to me because of my beautiful white coat and gorgeous eyes. I come from a strange home where I had really minimal socialization and was confined in a kennel for long periods of time. So I am looking forward to finding a forever home where I can truly learn what it means to be a completely adored pup!
I love to cuddle and receive all the kisses. I’m eager to learn and have already caught on to a healthy routine and am adjusting so well in my foster home! I love to hike in Colorado’s mountains and daily exercise is definitely important for me but I don’t need to be running all day long every day. I’m also obsessed with car rides. I always have a huge smile on my face when we’re driving somewhere exciting. You might call me the perfect Husky mix!
I’d do well as the only animal in the home but I also generally do really well with other dog friends and have lived successfully with dogs in my previous living situation and in my foster home. I like to play with other dogs and enjoy their company. However, I can have some resource guarding issues and can get snappy at another dog when sharing my human’s lap or my favorite sleeping spot. I also have a rough play style and can get a little worked up during play so a dog who isn’t playful isn’t a great match for me (and I need a family who is comfortable managing my interactions to make sure everyone is being polite to each other.) I have lived with cats in a previous living situation but I haven’t met cats during my time with PawsCo so they can’t officially report on how I’d do with a feline friend.
While I am super friendly and affectionate overall, I have had a couple of incidents where I’ve nipped at kids while they were visiting my foster home. So I would do best in an adult only home (now and in the future) and a home where I don’t need to interact with visiting kids often. I do fine meeting kids outside of the home so it seems to be just a mistrust of kids in my home space.
If you call me beautiful every day, I think we’ll last forever. I love my favorite plush toys by carrying them around the house and keeping them in a special spot. In a neutral zone like a park or on the street, I’m super friendly to other dogs and people. And don’t worry about my basic skills, I’ve got them down! I’m crate-trained, house-trained, and I even know how to “sit.”
