Bella's Story

Bella is super sweet, calm, and affectionate dog. She's really bonded with me already and loves to just hang out nearby—if I sit down, she'll come curl up right next to me or on my laps. She loves pets and cuddles.

She's very quiet too—no barking at people coming in or other dogs. Just a really easy presence in the house.

She's great on walks and enjoy being outside. She's not a runner even when the door is open. She listens very well.

She's also been amazing in the car—very calm, no anxiety.

Her appetite is great—she eats everything we give her (Chicken sweet potatoes, broccolis mixed with some dog food). She loves apple and carrots. She had a diarrhea the first few days probably due to nervousness and high anxiety, but her digestive system is completely normal now.

She also picked up the doggy door quickly and freely goes outside to do her business. Hasn't had any accidents and I consider her completely house trained.

With our dog Charlie, she's been totally fine. She's just not interested in interacting at all, more keeps to herself. Not playful with other dogs. I think she can be perfectly happy even if she is the only dog.

A couple things to note:

She has separation anxiety, especially with me. Somebody's always at home but whenever I am away , my husband says that she whimpers and bark pretty much the entire time, pacing back and force in the house, and the backyard. I am not sure if that is something that she will get over eventually.

She's also a little cautious with new people , but nothing extreme—just takes her a bit to warm up, just like she did with me.

Overall:

She's a really lovely, easygoing dog who just wants to be close to her person. I think she'll do best in a home where someone is around most of the time, so she can feel secure and safe.

If interested please follow these steps:

1. fill out and submit an application online at:

https://form.jotform.com/240361716308149

2. Please send in home and yard photos for approval.

*please note: We like to do 2 week Foster to Adopts on adult dogs,so the dogs don't have to move around as much and they can bond and make sure they fit into your home before completion of adoption.*

Dogs adoption fee's will include vet visit/exam, spay/neuter, microchip, blood work up/dental if vet says it is needed, dewormed, up to date on shots (DHPP and Rabies, Bordetella can be done if requested we don't do it normally as we don't have the dogs in boarding, dog parks or high risk locations), Current on 1 dose of flea treatment in case they brought any with them from CA. If anything isn't mentioned please ask.

Adoption fees vary $300-$500 depending on the dog and medical care needed/required. Adoption fee for each dog will be noted in write up.

Soft Paws Rescue and Rehabilitation- Oregon Branch's Adoption Policy
Every dog that comes through Soft Paws Rescue lives in a foster home. We do not have a physical facility where people can visit and meet multiple dogs. Each dog will be introduced on our Facebook page when it arrives and will then have his or her own profile created and put up on our website. ? The length of time between when the dog arrives and when it is put up on the website varies. Puppies are not typically listed on the website until a few weeks prior to adoption (10 weeks of age). They will be micro-chipped and up-to-date on their shots. Dogs that have behavior or health issues may not be listed on the website for an extended period of time. Healthy, well-behaved dogs typically will be put on the website within two weeks of arriving into their foster home. ? During those two weeks we are constantly assessing the dogs temperament. We need time to be able to determine the dogs quirks and what type of permanent home will be ideal for the dog. We do not have a waiting list nor do we accept adoption interest for a dog prior to him/her being listed on the website. Adoption is not based on first come first serve and we review ALL applications prior to selecting an adoptive home. ? Applications are sent via email or downloaded from our website, Please answer any and all applicable questions and tell us why your home would be the best place for this pup to go. Typically, for any given dog we receive upwards of a dozen applications and reviewing them all is a tough task. ? Once your application has been submitted, please be patient. You will receive an automated email confirming it was received. If your application was selected as a potential adopter, we will notify you and begin the approval process. We will talk to your family over the phone/Text, get clarification on any questions we may have will also answer any of your questions. We request to inspect your home Via in person or Photo's/Video's to ensure its a pet-friendly, safe environment for the dog. Not all dogs have the same needs so we don't have a generalized "standard home" in mind. ? We require you to bring your current dogs to the fosters home (or nearby park) for a meet and greet. We do not ship or transport our dogs without observing an introduction. Adopters from out of town are absolutely encouraged to adopt from us but will need to make the road trip to Oregon or California, to meet the dog, and most likely take it back home with you that same day, if all goes well. If you're not sure which dog would be the best fit, email us and we can help guide you in the right direction. ? If your application is not selected, we don't think any less of you or your home. Most likely we had eight out of ten amazing options and yours just unfortunately wasn't the one we picked. Please stay in touch with us and let us help you find the perfect addition to your family. We will notify you if the dog is currently pending adoption and then again when the dog is adopted. You can also follow our Facebook page for updates on the dog you're interested in. ? Once that pup has joined your family don't ever hesitate to reach out to us. Training questions, medication questions and anything in between are encouraged. We thank you for coming to Soft Paws Rescue to adopt your next dog. We think very highly of our dogs and enjoy sharing them with the world. ? For specific questions, please contact us.
