Meet Beckham <br/><br/>Hello there! My name is Beckham, and I’m a neutered male Lab mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for people. I’m about 3 years old, weigh around 88 pounds, and my foster mom says I’m the definition of a gentle giant. She even did a DNA test and found out I’m mostly Labrador and Great Pyrenees — with a little beagle mixed in too, so please don’t laugh at me.<br/><br/>I absolutely adore people. Truly, there’s no stranger I don’t like, and I’m always ready for attention, hugs, belly rubs, and couch cuddles. I’m a real family dog and would do wonderfully with kids. I love being near my people and keeping an eye on my whole pack, whether that’s humans or other dogs. I usually like to lounge somewhere with a good view of the house so I can supervise everyone properly.<br/><br/>I get along great with dogs of all sizes and would love a playful canine buddy, though I’d also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only. I’m playful but respectful, and I take correction from other dogs very well. I’ve also lived with cats, chickens, and roosters on a farm in Mississippi and did great with all of them.<br/><br/>I’m house trained, fantastic on leash, and don’t need a crate. I ride beautifully in the car and settle in nicely, even on longer trips. I’m pretty chill for a Lab/Pyrenees mix, especially right now while I’m undergoing heartworm treatment. I’m heartworm positive, but I’m being treated and expected to be ready for adoption in early July. Even while taking it easy, I’m still my happy, goofy self.<br/><br/>I love chewing bones, splashing around in ponds and streams, and spending time outdoors with my people. I don’t need a fenced yard because I’d much rather go on walks with you. I’m loyal, smart, treat-motivated, and eager to please. Foster mom says I’m also a bit of a goofball because sometimes I get so excited that I trip over my own feet when greeting people at the door.<br/><br/>I already know “sit,” I don’t bark much, and I have pretty good manners overall — though I may occasionally check the counters for snacks if you leave something tasty unattended. What can I say?
